Professional Photographer

About the role

We are seeking a Professional Photographer to create high‑quality visual content for the museum’s exhibitions, collections, events and spaces. The role supports the Public Programs & Production department and ensures images meet archival, publication and digital standards.

Key responsibilities

• Photograph museum events, public programs, exhibition openings, talks, workshops and community activities, capturing atmosphere and audience engagement.
• Document exhibition halls, artworks and installations, including low‑light and multi‑projection environments while preserving true colours and fine detail.
• Capture the museum’s collections (paintings, sculptures, textiles, artefacts, manuscripts, small or delicate objects) for archiving, publication and research.
• Record conservation and restoration processes in the lab, documenting work stages and tools.
• Photograph the museum’s architecture, gardens, outdoor artworks and seasonal scenes.
• Produce high‑resolution, publication‑ready images and deliver them in the museum’s specified digital formats.
• Organise, label and archive digital files according to the approved folder structure and metadata requirements.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external photographers as needed.

Required profile

• Degree in Photography, Visual Arts or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years professional photography experience, preferably in arts, culture or museum settings.
• Demonstrated ability to work in low‑light or technically complex environments while maintaining colour accuracy and detail.
