Senior Logistics Officer (Fixed‑Term) – West Bank Field Office

About the role

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is seeking an experienced Senior Logistics Officer for a fixed‑term appointment at its West Bank Field Office. This internal‑candidate position supports the Procurement and Logistics Department in delivering efficient logistics services across the field.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Field Procurement & Logistics Office in planning, organizing and managing the Logistics Office.
• Oversee distribution and warehousing operations, including receipt of supplies by land, sea and air, customs liaison, quality control and stock management.
• Supervise the sale of surplus or unserviceable equipment and the operation of distribution centres.
• Propose and implement annual warehouse improvements, security measures and risk‑management actions.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness assessments and logistics contingency planning.
• Manage fleet operations, supervise the motor‑vehicle workshop, and oversee outsourced vehicle repairs.

Required profile

• Professional experience in logistics, supply‑chain or warehouse management, preferably within a humanitarian or UN context.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience of professional and general‑service staff.
• Strong knowledge of customs clearance, tax exemption and import/export documentation.
• Ability to work closely with government authorities, donors and internal client departments.
• Eligibility as an internal UNRWA candidate.
