Community Engagement and Social Change Officer

About the role

World Vision is seeking a Community Engagement and Social Change Officer to lead child sponsorship operations and foster community ownership of development programmes in the Tulkarem area. The role combines implementation of sponsorship standards with active community engagement to improve the lives of vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Implement child sponsorship operations, register children, and manage sponsorship activities in line with World Vision standards.
• Identify, select and support Child Development Monitors (CDMs), building their capacity and ensuring high‑quality implementation.
• Design and execute sponsorship plans and related events, handling sponsor queries and community gifts.
• Promote community engagement by applying World Vision’s programme approach, building partnerships with local stakeholders, and facilitating village‑level planning and annual community engagement processes.
• Provide guidance on micro‑projects, manage community groups, and communicate World Vision’s mission, vision and values to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with child protection standards and report incidents in coordination with CPA and CESC coordinators.

Required profile

• Experience in community development, child sponsorship, or related humanitarian programmes.
• Strong ability to work with diverse stakeholders, including children, parents, local authorities and NGOs.
• Excellent organizational and coordination skills, with a focus on quality and compliance.
• Commitment to World Vision’s Christian‑based values and child‑centred approach.

Required skills

• Knowledge of child sponsorship processes and standards.
• Capacity‑building and training experience for community volunteers.
• Understanding of child protection policies and reporting mechanisms.
