Gift-in-Kind (GIK) Officer

About the role

Project HOPE, an international NGO focused on global health, is hiring a Gift-in-Kind (GIK) Officer in Gaza, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager / Logistics Manager. The officer receives, documents, tracks, stores and distributes donated goods (mainly pharmaceuticals and medical supplies) so that they are properly recorded, compliant with donor regulations and distributed according to program needs. The position is advertised contingent on award, with no formal offer until funding is confirmed.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and verify gift-in-kind shipments, inspect goods with the warehouse team, and check quantities, batch numbers, expiration dates and product specifications.
• Maintain Goods Received Notes and other donation acceptance documentation, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
• Set up and run a GIK tracking system, record donations in the inventory system or GIK database, and reconcile periodically with warehouse records.
• Coordinate with the warehouse team on storage conditions, labeling and segregation of donated goods, and support stock counts.
• Plan distribution with program and logistics teams, prepare waybills and release forms, and coordinate transport with the fleet team.
• Ensure compliance with donor regulations, archive all GIK transactions, report on received, distributed and remaining stock, and support internal and external audits.
• Liaise with donors, program teams, finance and logistics staff, and help forecast storage and transportation needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Pharmacy, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain or warehouse management, preferably in an INGO or humanitarian organization.
• Experience managing medical supplies or pharmaceutical commodities is highly desirable; experience with donor-funded programs (USAID, UN, ECHO, etc.) is an asset.
• English required; Arabic desirable.
• Based in Gaza, with possible travel to field locations and warehouses, and possible physical inspection of shipments and stock.

Required skills

• Inventory management and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical handling standards (batch tracking, expiry management).
• Experience with inventory tracking systems or Excel-based databases.
• Strong organizational, archiving, communication and reporting skills, and attention to detail.
