National Security Officer – West Bank Field Office (Ramallah)

About the role

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is seeking an experienced National Security Officer for its West Bank Field Office in Ramallah. This position is open to internal candidates only and supports UNRWA’s mission to protect and assist Palestine refugees across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the senior field security officer in developing and implementing security risk management processes, security plans, contingency and evacuation procedures.
• Manage security access‑control systems, conduct periodic security assessments of premises, and oversee the guard force’s training and daily operations.
• Prepare and deliver security briefings and training sessions for staff.
• Administer security‑related budgets and advise on acquisition and inventory control of security equipment.
• Conduct regular security risk assessments, ensure compliance with SRM measures, and support communications/wardens systems.
• Collect, update, assess, and disseminate security information, reporting to headquarters as required.
• Respond to security incidents, assist affected personnel, and monitor compliance with security standards.

Required profile

• Internal UNRWA staff with proven experience in security management.
• Strong understanding of security risk management, access control, and emergency response procedures.
• Ability to supervise guard forces and coordinate security training.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
