Poultry Processing Supervisor

About the role

The Poultry Processing Supervisor leads a production line or department, ensuring all operations comply with company policies, HACCP, SSOPs, GMPs and relevant federal and state regulations such as USDA and OSHA. The role focuses on maintaining high productivity, meeting customer specifications, and fostering a safe, sanitary work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the production line by establishing and adjusting procedures to meet schedules, improve efficiency, and achieve budget goals.
• Deploy and rotate up to 100 employees to optimize workflow, ergonomics, and on‑time delivery.
• Complete daily departmental reports, attendance records, yield data, and other required documentation.
• Identify and communicate opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction, and quality improvement.
• Lead or support process‑improvement projects, monitor metrics, and address negative trends.
• Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with food‑safety standards and USDA requirements.
• Mentor, coach, and cross‑train staff, providing feedback and managing performance improvement plans.
• Enforce safety initiatives, ensure proper PPE use, and promote a zero‑accident culture.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or relevant coursework preferred.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience, with 3 years in food manufacturing or the poultry industry preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience, including time‑keeping, policy adherence, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
• Working knowledge of poultry processing, food‑safety regulations, OSHA guidelines, GMP and HACCP.
• Effective verbal and written communication in English.
