Cashier – Limited Duration Contract (LDC) – Qalqiliya Branch

About the role

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is seeking a Cashier for its Qalqiliya Branch Microfinance Department. This Limited Duration Contract (LDC) position supports loan repayment processing and cash management for vulnerable Palestine refugees.

Key responsibilities

• Receive cash, cheques, and temporary receipt vouchers from loan clients and Loan Officers, issuing covering receipt vouchers.
• Maintain both manual and electronic cash receipt books, recording all payments and receipts for future reference.
• Monitor branch bank balances to ensure liquidity for disbursement cheques and act on insufficient funds.
• At close of business, tally and reconcile cash on‑hand with daily receipt vouchers, reporting any shortfalls.
• Deposit all cash received daily into the branch’s bank accounts and follow up on cleared or returned cheques with banks.
• Draft memos to local banks under supervisor’s signature and address banking issues of mutual interest.
• Maintain up‑to‑date archiving and log registers of all loan application documents.

Required profile

• Completion of a post‑secondary two‑year diploma in business and office practice, business administration, accounting, or a related discipline.
