Senior Staff Nurse – Fixed Term (Grade HL03)

About the role

The Senior Staff Nurse will act as the principal nursing officer at the health centre in Arroub Camp, supervising nursing and support staff and ensuring high‑quality health services within the Family Health Team Approach.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate staff nurses, practical nurses, midwives and non‑paramedical personnel, including performance reviews.
• Manage the electronic medical record system, train staff, maintain equipment and ensure accurate data entry.
• Oversee data collection, analysis and reporting of nursing activities, and coordinate home‑visit follow‑ups.
• Control vaccine, family‑planning and medical supplies, ensuring continuous availability.
• Provide direct nursing care when needed, including IUD insertion and follow‑up checks.
• Ensure infection‑control standards, triage services, cleanliness, hygiene and medical waste management.

Required profile

• At least four years of progressive nursing experience, with one year in a supervisory role.
• University degree or minimum three years of nursing studies and a valid nursing licence for the duty station.
• Experience in primary health‑care delivery and ability to use computers for health applications.
• Residency in the West Bank or Jerusalem with a valid ID.

Required skills

• Electronic medical record (EMR) system operation and training.
• Data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Infection‑control and medical waste management.
• IUD insertion and follow‑up procedures.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract for 1 year (with possible extension) – Grade HL03.
• Monthly basic salary USD 1,431.50 (paid in JD at UN exchange rate).
