Assistant Projects Officer (Fixed‑Term) – West Bank

About the role

The Assistant Projects Officer provides day‑to‑day support to the Projects Officer in the West Bank Field Office. This fixed‑term position is open to internal UNRWA staff and contributes to the planning, implementation and monitoring of development projects for Palestine refugees.

Key responsibilities

• Identify project needs, prepare individual proposals and maintain the field’s master project list.
• Coordinate project implementation with programme teams and relevant departments, reporting any delays or issues.
• Assist in drafting project progress and final reports.
• Monitor and control financial expenditures in collaboration with administrative and finance officers, and help develop alternative plans for remaining funds.
• Collect data for monthly monitoring reports and support donor visits.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in project coordination and financial monitoring within a UN or similar humanitarian environment.
• Strong report‑writing ability and familiarity with results‑based management.
• Understanding of UN core values of integrity, professionalism and respect for diversity.
