Distinguished Professor

About the role

The Distinguished Professor is a full‑time, on‑site academic position at An‑Najah National University in the Palestinian Authority. The incumbent will lead advanced teaching and mentoring for undergraduate and graduate programmes, design and deliver high‑quality courses, and supervise theses and dissertations. In addition, the role involves conducting original research, publishing in reputable journals, securing research funding and contributing to collaborative projects within the faculty.

Key responsibilities

• Lead teaching and mentoring at undergraduate and graduate levels, designing and delivering courses.
• Supervise student theses, dissertations and research projects.
• Conduct original research, publish in peer‑reviewed journals and secure external funding.
• Participate in departmental and university committees, contributing to curriculum development and academic governance.
• Foster collaborative projects and community outreach initiatives to enhance the university’s reputation.

Required profile

• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and curriculum development with strong mentoring capabilities.
• Outstanding research record, including peer‑reviewed publications and successful grant acquisition.
• Experience in academic leadership and service such as committee work or program coordination.
• Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in a relevant discipline with recognized standing in the field.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment, supporting inclusive pedagogy and diverse learners.
