First Team Sports Performance Dietitian

About the role

The Human Performance Department is seeking a First Team Sports Performance Dietitian to lead the nutrition strategy for the club’s elite athletes. This role integrates nutrition into daily training, match preparation, recovery, and long‑term player development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the nutrition strategy and service delivery for the First Team.
• Provide individualized nutrition counseling and develop personalized nutrition plans.
• Collaborate with Sports Science, Sports Medicine, Strength & Conditioning, coaching and culinary staff to embed nutrition into training periodization and rehabilitation.
• Assess and monitor body composition, weight, energy balance, and hydration status using DEXA scans, skinfold assessments, and hydration testing.
• Analyze nutrition‑related health and performance data, including blood biomarkers, to guide interventions.
• Manage the club’s performance supplement program, ensuring compliance with MLS, WADA, USADA, NSF Certified for Sport and Informed Sport standards.
• Oversee daily fueling operations at the training facility and coordinate travel nutrition.

Required profile

• Clinical expertise in sports nutrition and a strong foundation in nutrition science.
• Experience applying nutrition strategies in a high‑performance athletic environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret performance data and biomarkers.

Required skills

• DEXA scanning and body composition analysis.
• Skinfold assessment techniques.
• Hydration testing and protocol development.
• Supplement program management and regulatory compliance (MLS, WADA, USADA, NSF Certified for Sport, Informed Sport).
• Nutrition data analysis and reporting.
