Head of Gaza Sub Office

About the role

The Head of Gaza Sub‑Office will lead UNDP’s Project of Assistance to the Palestinian People (PAPP) team in Gaza, representing the organization to local and international partners and ensuring effective programme delivery amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

Key responsibilities

• Represent UNDP in Gaza, coordinate with UN agencies, NGOs and national authorities, and lead resource mobilisation efforts.
• Re‑establish and manage the sub‑office, overseeing staff, finance, administration and security in line with UNDP rules.
• Provide strategic direction for early recovery, reconstruction and resilience programmes, advising partners and conducting joint assessments.
• Ensure rigorous programme oversight, risk management, results‑based monitoring and financial integrity.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in programme management, reconstruction or humanitarian‑development contexts, preferably in conflict‑affected settings.
• Proven leadership and team‑building skills, with ability to motivate staff and foster collaboration across UNDP units.
• Strong understanding of UNDP policies, financial controls and risk management frameworks.
