About the role
The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the occupied Palestinian territory seeks a qualified national to strengthen its Gaza Sub‑Office. The analyst will support monitoring, reporting and coordination of humanitarian actions, working closely with UN agencies, NGOs, authorities and local communities.
Key responsibilities
- Support monitoring and assessing humanitarian developments and their impact on the Palestinian population.
- Prepare and deliver daily or ad‑hoc reports on needs analysis and response.
- Organise regular field assessments and joint assessments with UN agencies and NGOs, drafting reports and follow‑ups.
- Monitor population movement, displacement trends and humanitarian access issues.
- Maintain liaison with stakeholders, sharing information and ensuring regular engagement.
- Facilitate field briefings for officials and UN senior delegations.
- Contribute to contingency planning, emergency needs identification and coordination meetings.
- Provide security information updates to the UN security system and act as zone warden.
Required profile
- Advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in political science, social science, international studies or related field.
- Knowledge of humanitarian and emergency relief principles and practices.
- Ability to analyse data, conduct independent research and produce reports under pressure.
- Demonstrated professionalism, teamwork and communication competencies.
