Humanitarian Mine Action Technical Advisor

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council seeks a Technical Advisor to provide technical oversight for its Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) operations across Gaza and the wider occupied Palestinian territory. The role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant land release, explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) and explosive hazard assessment (EHA) activities while building national capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and daily management of field operations, including planning, safety, and supervision of all personnel.
• Supervise Land Release, EOD, and EHA activities in line with DRC HDP SOPs and UNMAS requirements.
• Deliver training and capacity‑building programmes for national staff and civil‑society partners.
• Develop, review and maintain Technical Implementation Plans (TIP) and Field Risk Assessments (FRA) for each task.
• Support the Operations Manager and HMA Technical Field Manager in reporting, learning and procedural improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian mine action or related explosive safety fields.
• Strong knowledge of DRC HDP standard operating procedures and UNMAS guidelines.
• Ability to train and mentor national staff and partners.
• Excellent planning, risk‑assessment and quality‑assurance skills.
