Humanitarian Mine Action Technical Advisor

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking a Humanitarian Mine Action Technical Advisor to provide technical oversight and direction for its mine action field operations in Gaza and the wider occupied Palestinian territory. This role supports DRC’s mission to protect and promote durable solutions for displaced populations by ensuring safe and efficient mine action activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and supervision for all mine action activities in the field.
• Develop, implement and monitor operational plans in line with international mine action standards.
• Coordinate with DRC staff, civil‑society partners and local authorities to ensure compliance and safety.
• Conduct risk assessments, supervise clearance operations and ensure quality assurance.
• Prepare technical reports, data analysis and recommendations for senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian mine action or related de‑mining programmes.
• Familiarity with the operational context of the occupied Palestinian territory or similar conflict‑affected environments.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and work under challenging field conditions.
