Positional Technical Scout – First Team

About the role

The Positional Technical Scout supports Sporting Kansas City’s first‑team recruitment by delivering objective, high‑level assessments of players worldwide. Working closely with the scouting and data teams, you will identify talent that fits the club’s playing philosophy and the demands of Major League Soccer.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and monitor player prospects across global leagues, focusing on up to four specific positions.
• Provide initial filter recommendations and conduct detailed multi‑game video analysis.
• Assess player suitability for MLS, club philosophy, physical demands, and potential transition issues.
• Record all recommendations in the club’s internal database and maintain accurate tracking.
• Produce structured written scouting reports covering technical, tactical, physical, and psychological attributes.
• Grade players against defined positional profiles and project short‑, medium‑ and long‑term development potential.
• Create, edit, and deliver standardized video summaries that highlight competencies and development areas.
• Collaborate with data analysts to refine metrics and support the creation of comprehensive player dossiers.
