Recruitment Officer – Fixed Term (Internal & External Candidates)

About the role

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is seeking a Recruitment Officer on a fixed‑term basis to support its Field Office in the West Bank. The role is responsible for managing day‑to‑day recruitment operations, ensuring compliance with UNRWA policies and promoting gender‑balanced hiring.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee recruitment services, revise vacancy advertisements, and ensure they match post descriptions.
• Prepare interview materials, coordinate technical tests, and monitor screening against established criteria.
• Provide guidance and feedback to internal and external candidates throughout the recruitment process.
• Advise the Human Resources Career Management Officer (HRCMO) and Field Human Resources Officer on recruitment planning and policy refinement.
• Produce periodic statistical reports on recruitment activities and maintain liaison with missions, NGOs, and national recruitment services.
• Update programme heads and area office chiefs on recruitment matters and develop assessment tools in coordination with hiring offices.
• Supervise professional and general services staff as required.

Required profile

• University degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Relevant experience in recruitment or human resources, preferably within an international or humanitarian organization.
• Ability to incorporate gender perspectives and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
