Web QA Team Lead

About the role

The Web QA Team Lead will guide a group of Web QA Specialists across multiple Waze web product pillars. You will own manual testing strategy, defect management and release validation for web‑enabled features, ensuring high‑quality releases in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define, review and approve test strategies, plans, cases and execution results for health checks, sanity, functional, regression, exploratory, integration and UAT testing.
• Manage defect lifecycle, triage discussions, root‑cause analysis and release readiness.
• Validate client‑on‑web experiences, supporting browser‑based app features embedded in Waze pages.
• Lead production validation, release support and incident management during high‑frequency deployments.
• Promote collaboration with product managers, engineers, program managers and automation QA to improve testability and documentation.
• Own sprint QA planning, resource allocation, prioritisation and delivery commitments.
• Coach, mentor and develop the Web QA team, handling hiring, onboarding and career growth.

Required profile

• Experience testing responsive mobile‑web designs and client‑on‑web features.
• Background supporting high‑frequency deployments and continuous delivery models.
• Familiarity with web performance monitoring tools such as Lighthouse and PageSpeed Insights.
• Knowledge of Waze‑specific platforms (e.g., WME, livemap.waze.com, Dexter) is a strong plus.
• Basic exposure to web automation concepts or frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
