Cook and Cleaner (Office & Guesthouse)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a dedicated Cook and Cleaner to maintain hygiene standards and provide meal services for staff and guests at its office and guesthouse. This hybrid role combines kitchen duties with comprehensive cleaning responsibilities to ensure a safe, welcoming environment.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize office spaces, guesthouse rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and communal areas daily.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, waste disposal, and ensure proper hygiene standards.
• Prepare local meals for expatriate staff and provide refreshments during meetings and coffee breaks.
• Purchase food supplies from local markets using personal funds when required.
• Greet visitors professionally, manage basic records of supplies, and support inventory management.
• Report maintenance, safety, or equipment issues to the Admin Officer.

Required profile

• Experience cooking local dishes; familiarity with Western cuisine is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safe cleaning practices.
• Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and follow IRC safety and conduct policies.
