Compliance Coordinator (Local Hire)

About the role

Project HOPE, an international NGO working on global health challenges, is hiring a Compliance Coordinator in Gaza. The role oversees the Ethics and Compliance program, ensuring adherence to donor requirements, legal and contractual obligations and organizational policies. It reports to the Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel, supervises the local compliance function, manages investigations and coordinates with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the Code of Ethics, internal policies, compliance tools and the annual compliance monitoring plan, including assessments and field visits
• Support the Gaza Sanctions Compliance Program and coordinate due diligence and background screening of staff, vendors, implementing partners, consultants, landlords and suppliers
• Run the local compliance hotline, review reported concerns and manage investigations confidentially and within timelines
• Maintain and update the Gaza compliance risk register and follow up on risk mitigation and corrective actions
• Prepare Ready-To-Audit folders for internal and external audits and support audit follow-up
• Deliver training on the Code of Ethics, safeguarding, compliance policies and sanctions, and support onboarding and continuous learning
• Produce periodic reports, dashboards and updates for management, and escalate significant issues

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Risk Management, Audit or a related field
• Strong managerial, communication and analytical skills
• Ability to foster accountability, promote ethical standards and work in a complex, sensitive environment
