Country Director for Palestine (based in Amman)

About the role

The Country Director will lead the mission in Palestine, ensuring safety, program quality and operational continuity in a highly volatile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of staff and assets.
• Coordinate programme implementation, monitor needs and propose new operations.
• Oversee staffing, supervise teams and define objectives.
• Manage logistical, administrative and financial processes in line with PUI and donor requirements.
• Represent PUI with partners, donors, media and authorities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in humanitarian action, project management or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with international NGOs, including project coordination; prior Country Director or equivalent experience is a plus.
• Strong leadership, decision‑making and stress‑resilience in unstable contexts.

Required skills

• Expertise in humanitarian project management and team management.
• In‑depth knowledge of donor prerequisites and excellent writing abilities.

• Fixed‑term contract (12 months) with a monthly gross salary of €3,330–€3,730, plus seniority allowance.
