About the role
The Material Inspector reports to the Head of the Field Procurement Office and is responsible for ensuring that all goods received by UNRWA in the West Bank meet quality and quantity specifications. The role involves inspecting deliveries, managing stock, handling disposal procedures, and maintaining accurate records in the ERP system.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect all incoming goods, compare specifications with ERP records, post results, and certify invoices for payment.
- Manage quarterly stock‑takes, monitor expiries, remove surplus or defective items, and conduct random cargo inspections on UNRWA trucks.
- Coordinate surplus, obsolete or defective supplies with procurement, port operations, and insurance claims.
- Prepare compliance reports, supervise problem‑solving with suppliers or end‑users, and ensure safe handling of fuel and other materials.
- Oversee write‑off, disposal, or destruction of supplies in line with ISO and agency procedures.
Required profile
- University degree in quality assurance, inventory, audit management, business administration or related field.
- Minimum four years of experience in supply operations or a similar field.
- Valid driving licence and residence in West Bank or Jerusalem with appropriate ID.
- UN language requirements: English (Level II) and Arabic (Level III).
Required skills
- Proficiency with ERP inventory management systems.
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Logistics Associate (CLA).
- Material handling and ISO 9001/Quality Control certifications.
- Knowledge of asset & inventory management software, shipping documentation, and stock survey & disposal procedures.
What we offer
- Fixed‑term appointment for 1 year (Grade 14) with a monthly basic salary of USD 1490.30.
- Provident fund contribution (15.4 % of basic salary), compulsory medical insurance, 30 days annual leave, and dependency allowance.
- Sick leave (2 days per month), 14 weeks maternity leave, and 2 weeks paternity leave.
