Programme Associate, LSC-7, Gaza

About the role

UNFPA is the lead United Nations agency for population and reproductive health, and this Programme Associate (LSC-7) position supports its program development and implementation in Gaza. The role strengthens the integration of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) into Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Adolescent and Youth programs and Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) service provision.

Key responsibilities

• Lead MHPSS/SRHR/GBV/Adolescent and Youth integration, including rollout of integration guidelines and targeted training with UNFPA and coordination bodies
• Strengthen MHPSS documentation systems and safe information management across partners
• Support alignment and standardization of referral pathways across GBV, SRHR and Youth programs
• Support a structured integrated MHPSS supervision system and a competency-based capacity-building framework for MHPSS supervisors and frontline staff
• Establish a UNFPA implementing partners' MHPSS community of practice
• Work with other program teams during annual work plan development and revisions
• Review partner progress reports, support program planning, capacity-building activities and implementation reviews for UNFPA Gaza programs
• Monitor integration activities, develop MHPSS-related indicators with the M&E team, streamline monitoring tools and document good practices
• Support donor monitoring missions and other M&E work as delegated

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, psychiatry, social studies, public health, development or a related field is highly desirable; alternatively, secondary education plus three years of qualifying experience may be considered
• At least four years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree, or seven years with secondary education
• Experience in MHPSS, GBV and SRH programming in humanitarian, emergency and development contexts is highly preferred
• Proven experience developing and delivering capacity-building activities or MHPSS, GBV and SRH services
• Strong knowledge of GBV Minimum Standards, MHPSS Minimum Service Package and SRH service delivery in emergencies
• Fluency in English and Arabic
