Head Health Centre B (Fixed Term) – Health Programme – West Bank

About the role

The Head of Health Centre B will lead the delivery of outpatient and specialised health services in the West Bank field office of UNRWA. This fixed‑term position is open to internal candidates and reports to the Area Health Officer.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general outpatient services, maternal and child health care, and non‑communicable disease management, including referrals to hospitals.
• Conduct medical examinations for staff, applicants for hardship assistance, and periodic health checks, and participate in medical boards.
• Manage the health centre’s operations, including service organization, personnel supervision, supply management and reporting.
• Supervise medical, nursing and paramedical staff, evaluate performance and ensure quality of care.
• Maintain relationships with the local community and authorities.
• Ensure availability, quality and validity of medicines and medical supplies; oversee ordering, receipt and disposal of expired items.
• Participate in on‑the‑job and in‑service training for staff according to approved plans.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Medical degree from an accredited institution with at least one year of internship.
• Proven experience in managing a health centre or similar medical facility.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and evaluate health‑care staff.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with local communities and authorities.
