IT Officer

About the role

Project HOPE, an international NGO working on global health challenges, is looking for an IT Officer in Gaza. The role ensures the reliable operation, maintenance and security of the organization's IT infrastructure and systems, provides technical support to staff, manages network systems and supports Microsoft 365 platforms. It reports to the Supply Chain Manager, with technical supervision by the HQ IT Department. The position is advertised contingent on award: the recruitment proceeds as part of organizational preparedness but no formal offer is made until funding is confirmed.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software and connectivity issues, and maintain a helpdesk tracking system.
• Install, configure and maintain laptops, desktops, printers and peripherals, ensuring equipment is ready for issue.
• Support Microsoft 365 (Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams), manage user accounts and permissions, and train staff on collaboration tools.
• Install and maintain LAN and Wi-Fi networks, manage routers, switches and internet connectivity, and coordinate with ISPs.
• Maintain antivirus and endpoint protection, back up staff data via OneDrive or SharePoint, and promote cybersecurity awareness.
• Keep an IT asset inventory, standardize hardware and software, monitor printers and recommend upgrades.
• Deliver basic IT training, write user guides and prepare regular IT status reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in IT support or systems administration.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 environments and office networks; NGO or international organization experience is an advantage.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff; office-based work with possible travel or deployment in hardship conditions.
