Senior Staff Nurse – Fixed Term – Hebron Health Centre

About the role

The Senior Staff Nurse will act as the principal nursing officer at the Hebron health centre, supervising nursing and support staff and ensuring high‑quality primary health care delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate staff nurses, practical nurses, midwives and non‑paramedical personnel, providing technical support and on‑the‑job training.
• Manage the electronic medical record (EMR) system, including staff training, equipment maintenance, data entry, backup and reporting.
• Oversee vaccine, family‑planning and medical supply stocks, ensuring continuous availability.
• Coordinate home‑visit activities, patient follow‑up, infection‑control measures and medical waste management.
• Perform clinical duties such as IUD insertion, triage, and direct patient care when needed.

Required profile

• At least four years of progressive nursing experience, including one year in a supervisory role.
• Valid nursing license for the duty station and a university degree or three years of accredited nursing studies.
• Residence in the West Bank or Jerusalem with a valid ID and ability to commute to Hebron.
• Fluency in English at UN Level II (reading, writing, listening, speaking).

Required skills

• Computer literacy for health applications and data analysis.
• Infection‑control procedures and medical waste management.
• Clinical skills in primary health care, including IUD insertion and triage.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract for 1 year with a probation period, renewable subject to performance and funding.
• Monthly basic salary USD 1,431.50 (paid in JD), plus provident fund contribution, medical insurance, annual leave and dependency allowance.
• Sick leave, maternity leave (14 weeks), and paternity leave (2 weeks).
