Accounting Clerk

About the role

The Accounting Clerk will support the finance function for an assigned location, handling a mix of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities. Working with minimal supervision, the role ensures accurate processing of invoices, payroll verification, and timely preparation of various payments.

Key responsibilities

• Match, code, and enter invoices; maintain vendor files and review vendor invoices.
• Verify payroll accuracy, generate reports, and make required corrections each pay period.
• Calculate and process payments such as grower settlements, bank assignments, IRS fuel levies, bonuses, and incentives.
• Collect, analyze, and distribute data reports to relevant personnel.
• Review production reports for inventory, headcount, and payroll accuracy; collaborate with operations to resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and enter general ledger entries, reconciling any differences before posting.
• Partner with internal departments to investigate and resolve unmatched invoices.
• Train and cross‑train team members on new policies and procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
• At least two years of clerical experience in accounts payable or receivable, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong customer focus with excellent verbal and written communication.
• Detail‑oriented, self‑starter with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast‑paced setting.
